WWJD?

Jesus never sinned...and the common phrase "what would Jesus do?" is supposed to be a believers mantra in order to be a better person, but lets face it we are humans. Even if we tried with all our might and discipline we will sin because we aren't Jesus...so is WWJD really a good mantra to live by if we are only going to disappoint ourselves?

The best way, in my opinion, to be the person you hope to be is to write down the personality traits of that person whom you hope to become, and every time you are faced with a decision think "what would the future me do?" What decisions would the person you hope to be do in any given situation? Follow by this standard and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Do today, for today

We make choices everyday with little thought to their consequences. We buy things we shouldn't, say things without thinking, and go to sleep to start it all over the next day believing that one day won't make a difference in our lives. Then days turn into weeks and then years and we wonder what we could've done differently. If we adjusted the way we live each day it could change a lot things we don't like about where we might be.

I want a lot of things. I want my life as a whole to be something I'm proud of and that's not possible without some risks, but thinking about my life as whole stresses me out to insane measures and paralyzes that part of me who would want to take the risk.

The point is to make decisions daily for a goal each week, or each month. Something that makes you who you wanna be today...right now, not later. If we don't choose how our lives are lived today, we might not be happy with the our lives as a whole...if we're even lucky to get that much time.

Do, Do, Do,

Happy New Years! This is the greatest time of year because I love hearing people's new years resolutions. Sometimes you hear one and say, "wow you're full of shit"...or "that's a really good one, good luck!"..more often you say the latter because you don't want to be a dick...understandable.

The problem with new years resolutions is they are always about the don'ts...Don't smoke, Don't eat like a pig, Don't trip people in the street, Don't spend your money, Don't...Don't...Don't. It seems to be easier (at least for me) to think about the Do's. Do sing in the car more often, Do pick up the trash some hoosier left in the street, Do eat that broccoli, Do drink more water, Do think about your goals and the best ways to get to them.....

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is usually cleverly disguised as work."

....Don't let the hard work scare you, and just DO it.

Quote 2: "Successful people aren't born that way. They become successful by establishing the habit of doing things unsuccessful people don't like to do. The successful people don't always like these things themselves; they just get on and do them.”
